Welcome to our festival!
New dates of next year event are published! Book your dates for 1.-2. October 2022, come to Prague, and enjoy your dancing at the beautiful palace Žofin.
On the weekend 1.-2.October the truth dance celebration in the form of the festival will take place in Žofín. On Saturday 1st will take place world-class Pro-Am competitions in latinamerican dances, the WDC AL World League, open Czech national professional latinamerican championship. Sunday the 2nd will be fulfilled by national competition, Czech Para Dance Dance Championship and worl-class Pro-Am in standard dances.
A spectacle is prepared for visitors through the daily part of the competitions, but also within the program of the Žofín Gala Ball, Senior StarDance Ball.

VENUE
ŽOFÍN PALACE, PRAGUE
Come and dance at the most prestigious venue where the most exclusive events take place in the Czech Republic! The Neo-Renaissance Žofín Palace is known as a hallmark of exclusivity and stands out for its rich history and elegance. It is located on Slovanský ostrov (Slavonic Island), an island on the Vltava river in New Town, Prague.
The event is sure to include five star service, VIP refreshment tables and a high standard of hospitality. Two large parquet floors are being prepared for dancing: The main hall dimensions are 14×24 meters and the smaller hall is 10×15 meters. A third hall will be open for practice for the duration of the competitions. Relax and recharge at the snack bar or at the Žofín restaurant.
How to get there?
Car: Parking is recommended in the garage under the National Theater, which is directly adjacent to Žofín.
Tram: Catch a tram numbered 2, 9, 18 or 22 and get off at the stop “Národní divadlo”.
EVENTS
List of Events
Under the Czech Dance Teacher Association will take place two championships of the Czech Republic (Pro-AM, Para Dance) and one championship of Central Europe (professional), sports competitions for all – Hobby dance and high class categories will take place within the festival. Ptize money in total amount of 6.700 EURO will be awarded.
SATURDAY 1.10. 2022
Pro-Am competitions will be divided into two days. Saturday will be dedicated to Pro-Am latinamerican dances, open czech national professionals championships, WDC AL world series.
One of the festival’s highlights will be the Central European Championships for Pro-Am in latinamerican dances, including the WDC AL World League. The first rounds will be part of the daily program, the finals during the gala evening. The three-time world champions Marek Kosaty and Paulina Glazik and the World & European champions Klemen Prasnikar & Alexandra Averkieva confirmed their participation aswell as icons of ballroom world Andrea and Sara Ghigiarelli.
SUNDAY 2.10.2022
On Sunday Pro-Am events in standard dances will continue with the extra program of American Smooth national championships.
Czech Para Dance Championship will take place from early morning at 9:30. Results will define who will repesent ČR at upcoming European Championhips.
The finals of the Senior Star Dance competition will take place from 16:00 as part of the Senior Star Dance Ball. The whole day will culminate in a competition of the Czech Amateur League within the Ball of Dance Masters.
GALA PROGRAM
During the festival, we have prepared a wide range of balls for you. If you have already purchased tickets from last year, they are still valid, and you do not need to update them.
SATURDAY 1.10.2022
Žofín Gala Ball – 19:00
Gala ball for the general public in the unique historical premises of the Žofín Palace. Visitors can look forward to an incredible orchestra, a fashion show, demonstrations by the winners of the StarDance dance competition and especially a show of three-time world champions or much more.
SUNDAY 2.10.2022
Senior Star Dance Ball – 16:00
The program will include the finals of the senior StarDance, where nine selected seniors will dance their prepared dances. StarDance stars will sit on the jury. Jan Onder, a multiple StarDance winner, will perform throughout the afternoon, and you will dance to the music of the Big Band.
