Czech National Champions, Vítězslav Rázek and Kristýna Mücková are pleased to invite you to the 2020 Prague Dance Championship. The event consists of Pro-Am, Professional Ballroom & Latin, and Para Dance Sport competitions and is located in one of Prague’s most iconic historic locations: the prestigious Žofín Palace, where the last dance competition took place more than 20 years ago.

The palace is fully booked out for the event, and all three halls will be filled with dancing and a lively atmosphere. Competititons will be held simultaneously in two of the halls. Main highlights of the festival will undoubtedly include the Pro/Am competition, WDC Amateur League, and for the first time in Czech history: Para Dance Championship. 

The remarkable day will continue with an entertainment packed Gala Evening, featuring a large live orchestra and an exclusive program including  Professionals competition with dancing by 3x World Champions, a fashion show and a performance by  StarDance winners Jan Onder and Marek Zelinka.

Come and compete with international dance couples from around the world and win the title of Central European Pro/Am Champion!

As a hot news Festival will welcome seniors from Prague to actively participate in the evening Seniors StarDance ball on 29th March. As well as kids and juniors in the national dance competitions at all levels. Besides the main program at Žofin palace will take place in Prague on 29th March Para Dance Sport congress and training camp with world-famous teachers.



Come and dance at the most prestigious venue where the most exclusive events take place in the Czech Republic! The Neo-Renaissance Žofín Palace is known as a hallmark of exclusivity and stands out for its rich history and elegance. It is located on Slovanský ostrov (Slavonic Island), an island on the Vltava river in New Town, Prague.

The event is sure to include five star service, VIP refreshment tables and a high standard of hospitality. Two large parquet floors are being prepared for dancing: The main hall dimensions are 14×24 meters and the smaller hall is 10×15 meters. A third hall will be open for practice for the duration of the competitions. Relax and recharge at the snack bar or at the Žofín restaurant.

How to get there?

Car: Parking is recommended in the garage under the National Theater, which is directly adjacent to Žofín.

Tram: Catch a tram numbered  2, 9, 18 or 22  and get off at the stop “Národní divadlo”.

Pro/Am consists of professionals dancing with professionals. Categories include Newcomer, Pre-Bronze, Bronze, Silver, Gold, Diamond in both Standard and Latin-American dances. There will also be competitions in Salsa, Polka, Caribbean Mix, American Styles as well as Argentine Tango. TOP TEACHER AWARDS: 1st place $1100 USD, 2nd place $650 USD, 3rd place $450 USD


International Dance Federation competitions for Amateurs in Standard and Latin-American styles within the following categories: Junior 2, Under 18 Youth, Under 21 Youth, Adults, Seniors 1, 2, 3.

Total Prize Money: $1800 USD

Professional Trophy Event

A competition for invited Professional couples. The event will take place as part of the entertainment during the Gala Evening, so guests will have the opportunity to watch the highest level of dancing. Confirmed couples include the participation of three-time Standard World Champions – Marek Kosaty & Paulina Glazik, as well as Massimo Arcolin & Laura Zmajkovicova, who are currently the 4th couple in Europe in Latin American dances.

Total prize money: $3000 USD

Para Dance competition

The Latin American and Standard Dancing Cup Competition is organized in cooperation with the Prague Wheelchair Sports Club. This type of competition will be the first of its kind in the Czech Republic. We are honoured to be hosting this event, and to introduce the discipline to both dance professionals and the general public. The premier of this competition will be followed by a congress dedicated to wheelchair dancing on the 29th of March 2020.


Žofin Gala Evening

28 March 2020

Žofín Palace is a well-known venue for all exclusive balls in Prague. Accordingly, we will be hosting a Gala Evening in the main hall after the competition day is over. Almost 80% of the tickets are already sold out, so don’t miss you chance.

The evening will be filled with exuberant entertainment with live music provided by the amazing Big Band Vladislava Brože orchestra. You can also look forward to the Central European Professional Championship finals, dance demonstrations by Pro-Am winners and wheelchair dancers, a captivating performance by StarDance winners: Jan Onder and Mark Zelinka, a fashion show by the fabulous designer: Amelia Petrillo, and much more.

Admissions within several categories are being prepared for the event. These include VIP seating tickets with bevarages and to seating tickets at the balcony. Ladies who love to dance but don’t have someone to dance with will certainly appreciate our next novelty: Tickets to our special “Dancing Tables” feature professional dancers that will dance with you all night long!
